A more in depth review of The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Ok I'll be honest...I used the audiobook for some chapters and i think thats why it might have gotten boring?? Tbh while I liked the book I just wanted to start reading other books esp the new one I bought 😭I originally got the book from a library but I had no intention of renewing it and started a little late that usual. Thank god for the Gutenburg project.

I was literally shifting from medium to medium because of this until I just decided to go full audiobook until the last two chapters because I know its important.

Chapter 11

Ok so my state of mind before that Chapter was that so far it was pretty witty and really liked Henry and Basil's convos. They're both kinda foils of each other. Henry and Dorian's dynamic was a bit creepy...because it's obvious Henry wanted to ruin him. I thought Basil was being a bit dramatic but dude was right. Also for the entire time I mistakenly thought he looked like Basil from Omori :/ But yeah I even made a scrapbook page but since it doesn't look that good I'm just gonna not post it.

Ok then the dreaded Chapter 11 came along...I went in blind but i heard some people warning about it. But oh god.

This is the part where Wilde begins to list a bunch of stuff to the point it made my brain mush. I literally didn't want to read this part but if I didn't know this would be the only chapter like that, I'd drop the book. Like go find it yourself and tell me how long it takes for you to not want to close the book or close the tab.

So yeah, we're gonna start this year strong I guess 🤷I hope I don't go into another annoying reading slump after this.

Back after...years of inactivity?

I'm not too sure how relevant BlogSpot is anymore but I guess I'll take the opportunity to update it and use it again. Or I'll just shift everything to a different site, who knows. 🤷

Reading my past self's posts is just...interesting. Thankfully I never actually wrote too much, at least I didn't embarrass myself too much haha.

But anyway, I kinda want to get back to reading again and while I could use tumblr I figured I could just use this one. Besides I feel safe here for some reason?

Here's a list of book's I'm planning to read so far:

The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde

Classics aren't my go-to but the summary of it was intriguing. I kinda know most of the story and I was gonna return it but my uni's library doesn't open until later sooooo yeah. Although some idiot ripped out a chunk of a page. Like seriously dude, I don't get people who disrespect books like that.

The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy - Mackenzi Lee

Honestly stumbled across this book when looking for books to read. I kinda want to steer away from cringy romances and you know, read something that I actually MIGHT like? I can't remember the name but on Instagram (at least it's better than Booktok :') ) someone made a list of ace rep books (:DDDD) and it just happened that this was there. I have NO idea what the plot is whatsoever but this would be an interesting read.

Innocence - Dean Koontz

I only read some pages of it but unfortunately I didn't complete it yet. Basically there's this dude and his face has...something. So far they never mention WHAT it is but it's pretty bad to the point his mom left him or something. But then he mets some girl who's running away from some dudes. I don't really know what to say about this story so far because I can't really get a feel for it. Although the age gap, while both adults, is a bit...concerning😀

Well thats far as Im going to write. Idk when y'all will see my dumb self again but hopefully not over a year.
